Art: The Burden of Happiness

"The Burden of Happiness"
oil on canvas, 80x100 cm, created: 2004

A figure walks in the water (the reality of earthly life), pulling behind it three spirit guides, wherever he goes. In order to be happy and protected, we have to keep training ourselves for higher awareness, never forgetting the universal powers that act to our best advantages. It may sometimes feel like a burden, but this is part of our journey for enlightenment.

About the Artist

Orna Ben-Shoshan’s artwork gives the viewer a rare and insightful visit to places beyond consciousness. Her paintings release the imagination and extend the limits of ordinary perception. In her colorful scenes, which take place in a distant world, creatures and objects interact in unpredictable ways, uninfluenced by the laws of physics.

Artist Orna Ben-Shoshan conceives the images she paints through channeling. All of her paintings are completed in her mind before she transfers them onto the canvas.
Her work infuses deep spiritual experience with subtle humor. Critics remark that each one of her images is a world onto itself. Like other surrealist artists, Orna creates links that are only possible in a different dimension of existence, taking the conventional and weaving it with unique and inimitable stitch. Her images are executed with intractable detail and seasoned by a multitude of colors and decorative Patterns.

During her career as a fine artist for the past twenty five years, orna has created a large body of work and is presently focusing on oil painting. In addition, she creates digital art, which is transformed into limited edition prints on canvas. Currently, she also works as a free-lance illustrator and graphic designer.
