To be able to answer this question first it is necessary to fully understand what light is. I believe light is that which enables vision. Light reveals that which is hidden in darkness. ‘In the light of the truth’ is a clear statement that always brings closure to any problematic or questionable situation. Light is not only that which enables outer vision but also awakens our inner vision.
When we say we make light of a situation, this does not simply mean that we lighten the weight of the seriousness of the situation. It also means we look at the situation in new light that allows us to see things in a different way.
Some people like myself lighten a difficult situation by seeing it in the light of humour. We use light to revision a painful situation to a lighthearted situation. Light is one of the most valuable commodities of life, in fact I believe light is the source of all life. God; the Creator of life is brightest and most illumining guiding light of all! Learning to connect to and use the light of life to lighten our lives is often very challenging. Problems are constantly imagined to be difficult, painful and sometimes impossible to solve. Yet in new light, they are instantly transformed!
We live in the light every day but do we recognise the continual light in our lives and our inner light which is life itself?
Light symbolises happiness, celebration and euphoria. Every country in the world uses lights to welcome in festive seasons. Lights symbolises the celebration of life. The three Wise men were led to baby Jesus by the light of a star. They trusted the light to be their guide.
Candles are lit for various purposes in our daily lives but they always represent the transformation of a mood or shift in life. We light candles to create romantic situations. We trust that the light of a candle will instantly create the mood of romance. We often use candles to light the path of a loved one as they pass from physical life into the life of death. We sense they will see the light and be at peace in the light. We light candles to create atmospheres of both calm and happiness. A birthday cake laden with candles is much more soul stirring and mood enhancing that a cake without candles.
We live in the light every day but do we recognise the continual light in our lives and our inner light which is life itself? Many people see life as only an experience of continual dark situations. They fail to recognise the duality of light and dark. They choose to forget that just as night turns into day any dark situation can automatically be transformed into light when viewed in a new more illuminated fashion.
God’s light is the energy and illumination of all life. Human beings live in this light in the form of day and night in order to visually observe and grow into the ever expanding experience of life. During the potentially enlightening experience of life they will hopefully awaken their spirit to remembering that they are spiritual light beings simply experiencing being human!
Life is filled with endless glory and splendor but most of us are never fully aware of this continual glory and splendor. To be aware of the heightened beauty of life we must fully appreciate the view offered to us in light. Do we ever gain full appreciation of the light? Throughout our experience of life, do we ever step fully into the presence of the light aware of its potential and purpose in our lives? Do we ever fully comprehend that we too are light?
Do you consider your life to be more predominantly filled with light or darkness? Of course life is a contrast of light and dark so naturally everyone has moments of darkness. It’s only from darkness that we learn to appreciate the gift of light so dark moments are essential if we are to fully grow in awareness.
The sun shines continually. There is always light. Light in the form of night simply wears the mask of darkness for the sun continually shines; it never fades, it is merely out of view. And even in the illusionary night darkness there is the more subtle light of the stars and moon to remind us of eternal light, so it becomes a personal choice to focus on either the darkness or light of night! Life is never completely dark. To see life as completely dark even at night is a choice!
What emotion accompanies the inner state we recognise as darkness? Fear! How many children grow up being afraid of the dark? How many children carry this fear through to adulthood? Many! People have been conditioned to focus on fear and darkness rather than love and light! How many parents ever make their children aware that the presence of light is constant even in the illusion of darkness to ease their fear? I know I didn’t, simply because at that stage of my personal growth I was unaware of the truth or the importance of this fact! But now that I am aware of this truth I would no longer look to artificial light to remove a child’s fear I would instead bring them to the awareness of the ever present light within themselves and in life.
The light of the sun stars and moon are symbolic reminders of the inner light of our physical being even in times of personal darkness. In my reality, I see humans as beings of light housed in a physical body to accommodate the experience of life. Living life for the purpose of experience as pure light would be impossible! In this belief, the action of death becomes a continuance of life where we once more return to our original state of light! The body we leave behind is devoid of life yet it weighs the same as it did when it housed life so what was this thing called life? Is life in any way at all a solid mass?
The shell we leave behind when we die is called lifeless. So where did the part of it go that was life in this transformation? It’s not in the body for you can try and try to awaken this life essence but it will not re-awaken. So where is it? Numerous people sense the dead around them after the moment of death is proclaimed, so where are they if not in the light! And people who have near death experiences always speak of their journey toward the light. I myself have experienced this and I knew at the time that I was one with the light.
In death, we become pure spirit and we know we are light yet in the physical, we allow the body and mind through the ego to deny its light.
Light is eternal and in light, we gain greater vision and clarity. I merely pose the question, ‘Is there light in your life?’ to open you up to seeing life in new light if you at times feel light is lacking in your life. Light is never lacking, but vision however does at times become impaired!
Light may shine in many ways but in the eyes of a child its true reflection of love and life is reflected!

In Love

Hi I am passionate about life. I wasn’t always this way. I was challenged greatly growing up as I never felt as though I ‘fit in’. The greater part of my life has been spent in Australia where I was physically born, but my true spirit birthed in Egypt. I have now discovered how I fit into life and live life to the fullest. My spirit soars in what many would consider challenged situations. Every day I see life in a myriad of expressions and in each of these expressions I see a part of myself; both the shadow and light. So every day I come to know myself and life more and in this realisation what an exciting journey life has become for I do fit in because I am a part of life….we all are! |
