The title of this article is one of the most common questions asked of Chief Joseph and me. Why are we here? What’s my life’s purpose?

In one word, Joseph would say “Joy.” Joy is the reason we are here and it’s the purpose of our lives.

But some object, “Well, what about learning lessons, facing our fears, clearing karma, healing our blockages, etc.?” Are they not also life purposes?

Here’s Chief Joseph.

When you focus on joy, all else falls into place.

We have always said joy is your life’s purpose. When you focus on joy, all else falls into place.

Your higher selves exist eternally in a state of bliss, ecstasy -- in a word, joy. When you are feeling joyful, or loving or appreciative, you are fully aligned with your higher selves.

It doesn’t get any better than that. For then you are seeing your lives, and everything and everyone in your lives, as your higher selves see them. You are seeing them from God’s perspective.

So let us start with that premise -- joy is your life’s purpose.

Now, what about all those other “purposes” -- learning lessons, facing fears, clearing karma, healing blockages?

Let’s take them one by one.

Learning lessons

There is nothing to learn. You already know it all. You don’t often feel that way. Nonetheless it’s true. Your higher selves have access to all knowledge. You have access to your higher selves. Therefore, you have access to all knowledge.

So there’s nothing to learn. But there is a lot to remember.

Facing fears

We commend you when you acknowledge your fears. Fear runs rampant on your planet today, and we realize it can a daunting challenge to deal with all that.

But you cannot feel fear -- no matter what’s happening in the world around you -- when you are in a state of joy, of love, of appreciation.

In that state, you are at such a high vibration, you cannot attract into your experience what others fear. Fear is a lower vibration, and you do not have access to it.

It’s simply impossible because the law of attraction will not allow you access to anything unless you match it vibrationally.
