Numerology and Astrology Readings – A Step-by-Step Guide to Your Life?

Just last week, my boss saw a copy of a child astrology report, which then sparked off an interesting discussion over lunch. He found it quite interesting, and asked, “do you follow exactly what the report says?”

I’m sure almost every one of you reading this has attempted to take a peek at what’s in it for you in this lifetime. Be it reading what the horoscope column in the fashion magazine has to say about you for the next one week, filling up your birthdate in websites for free numerology reports, going to a fortune teller to ask if you will have good fortune this lifetime, or paying for an astrology report which tells you who you are and what’s in store for you in the next few decades of your life on Earth. We are born curious and when we know of such avenues to know ourselves better, we get more curious!

After flipping through the horoscope page and scrolling through the free numerology report generated from the website, did you ask yourself this question, “how much should I follow what I’ve just read?” I do.

This is my personal guide on how I ‘use’ the information I read in these reports about myself. My purpose for requesting for such reports is very clear. Like everyone else, I wish to know more about myself, what might my true potentials be, and how should I lead my life? However, before planning what to do after reading these reports, I ask myself if I can resonate with what I had just read.

Do you agree that sometimes information given can be rather vague and it can be a little frustrating. For example, most of my reports state that I am a creative person, but I think a ten-year-old can draw better than me. I can’t really play any musical instruments and obviously don’t have a superstar’s voice. What do you mean I am very creative?!! If you don’t tell me EXACTLY what I am good at, how am I to know and make the most out of it?? Uh-huh... that sounds familiar?

In my opinion, these reports are not meant to dictate or spell out how you should live your life, step-by-step. It’s not a set of protocol on how you should walk your life. Instead, take the information as a form of reference. I use these reports as a guide to explore within myself. Hmm... creative... perhaps I can be creative in my writing, perhaps I am creative in the way I solve problems at work, or actually I am quite creative when it comes to conducting a class. I feel that it is totally up to you, how you want to use that piece of advice or guide. In fact, I’m starting to enjoy this exploration and discovery of my true potentials and come to realise how I had neglected my true talents!

The same goes for a child’s astrology report. I don’t think the report is for us to mould the child to what it is stated in the report. It does not mean that when the report indicates that being a doctor or teacher is good for the child, he cannot be a musician when he grows up. In fact, the report gives me a glimpse of the child's inborn characteristics, of her/his possible potentials and talents, as well as the lessons to be learnt. In this way, I will have better idea on how I can best guide/manage this child in his early years. In this case, maybe he can be a music teacher? What I wish to stress upon is that, do not forget that the child has a CHOICE too.
