When I was invited to write a review of this book, my answer was a resounding "Yes!". My own mother died of cancer of the pancreas within one year of diagnosis. This was a sign to me that cancer is already at my family doorstep and I need to consciously choose a holistic lifestyle and diet that promotes a disease-free outcome. I have been healthy most of my life and this makes me all the more determined to stay that way and it can be done, as illustrated from the courageous approaches of the people featured in the book.

"Cancer Cured Naturally" is written in a frank and direct style with much convincing information provided by those with first-hand experience of cancer and the enlightened medical and holistic professionals who support a wholesome, natural and spiritual approach to healing. In short, it is about getting back to the basics of understanding how cancer has become one of the top three killers in the last two decades; how pesticides used in chemical farming and ignorance and pollution contribute to environmental damage and diseases; and how prevalent the passive victim mindset is today, of giving in to the disease and letting conventional medical professionals take charge completely. The author, Betty Khoo-Kingsley, a natural health researcher, writer and an environmentalist with 17 years of editorial and journalistic experience, displays much passion and zeal with regards to informing and educating the public, locally and internationally, of this simple truth: Cancer is curable if we are willing to change our attitudes, lifestyle and diet.

"Cancer Cured Naturally" would be an excellent reference starting-point because it acts as a bridge for holistic, nature-based remedies and spiritual techniques.

The book is a compelling read because of its provocative account describing the emotional journeys of ordinary persons, battling all odds and nurturing themselves to wellness again. They defy doctors' predictions of impending death, recurring cancer and excruciating mainstream treatments that led to deaths of some of their loved ones and friends. All took responsibility and took charge of their recovery because they chose to live. Many are proud to proclaim: " I did it my way." The key to their turn-around is essentially a diet made up mostly of vegetarian, raw, organic, living food and juices, in addition to a plethora of holistic therapies and practices.

Readers may find useful information and resources throughout the book on how to combat cancer and diseases. The resource list mentioned is endless, for eg. Dr Ian Gawler's Cancer retreats, Dr Max Gerson's raw veggie diet , organic and biodynamic diet, juicing and detoxification, herbal remedies, yoga, meditation, qi gong, energy healing and references to pro-natural healing personalities such as Spiritual Scientist Rudolf Steiner, Dr Chris Teo, Dr Lai Chiu Nan, etc. For those looking for alternative ways and solutions. "Cancer Cured Naturally" would be an excellent reference starting-point because it acts as a bridge for holistic, nature-based remedies and spiritual techniques.
