Owen Waters is an international spiritual teacher and a prolific writer who has helped many people to better understand the nature of their inner being and their infinite potential. He is also one of the earliest authors that we have approached to contribute articles. Today, he continues to make metaphysics accessible to the masses with his highly regarded weekly newsletter. We catch up with this spiritual writer to find out what makes him tick.
1. We notice that you have a very high output of articles on metaphysics. Where do you get your inspirations from? Don't you ever run out of topics to write?
I use intuitive reasoning. That's a meditative technique which allows the person to gain direct insights into the subject under focus through the intuitive faculty. My subject is spiritual metaphysics and there are plenty of mysteries left that I want to understand more deeply, so I won't run out of topics any time soon. It is my joy to probe deeper into the mysteries of life and tell people of the insights that I gain in order to help them realize their own greatest potential in life.
Truth is like the layers of an onion.
2. You have proposed various theories in your articles. Do you feel that they are the highest truths?
Truth is like the layers of an onion. Just when just peel one layer of understanding back, you notice that there is another layer underneath. One day you'd eventually get to the core of the truth. Right now, like most people, I keep finding more layers. Like peeling an onion, peeling back layers of deeper truth can bring tears to the eyes, but the are the tears of spiritual joy, not the tears from an onion.
3. What do you wish to achieve with your life? A writer, teacher, metaphysician or something else?
I'm a philosopher and writer of spiritual metaphysics, and, as such, I'm already doing what I want to do with my life. This is what I came into this life to do.
4. Could you share with us the most important person in your life who has influenced you the most?
I have studied many sources of spiritual material for over 40 years. The best training I ever received was in the 1970's from Western Master of Yoga, George King (1919-1997). To me, his penetrating insights demonstrated an exceptional mastery of his subject of Karma Yoga, which is the path back to God through spiritual service to others.
5. You have had an interesting ebook published recently called Discover Your Purpose in Life and we are one of those who bought a copy. You wrote in the ebook's introduction, "You are about to discover the reason why life exists." Could you reveal a little on the "reason" you wrote about?
It was in 2007, ten years after George King had passed on, that he came to visit me in spirit and revealed the long sought-after secret of why life exists. It was always the ultimate mystery of life that, if the ultimate state of God is perfect, unchanging beingness, then why would it create a universe so that living beings could work their way back to itself, back to a perfection which already existed? As you can see, the question is a deep one and it calls for a presentation which does it justice. The surrounding issues take up much of this 77-page e-book in order to correctly present the core mystery and its answer.
