For most of us when someone mentions Astrology to you, your first thought is perhaps the daily horoscopes you read in the paper and the knowledge you have of your own birth sign. What people are not so much aware of is that your Astrology is the blue print of your life, it is the hand book you lost on the way down!

How Astrology works is through the interpretation of your Natal Chart. Your Natal Chart is a map of the heavens at the time of your birth, therefore it is very rare for any two Charts to be alike as this information is based on the TIME, DATE and PLACE of your birth. The planets move in relationship to each other every 4 minutes, so an accurate recording of your birth time is imperative to a correct Natal Chart interpretation.

For anyone, and especially those on the spiritual path, your Natal Chart is an imperative guide and wealth of information to help you along your journey. I believe that when you truly know and accept yourself for the person that you are, then there is nothing you cannot achieve in your lifetime. Your Natal Chart gives you the insight into what makes you tick and react the way that you do to certain situations and people, and through this insight you can learn to let go of the Self and the ego attachment we have to our emotions. Your Natal Chart can also identify periods in your life when you are concentrating on particular lessons, and you can see how at these times there is always plenty of positive energy to use to learn from, just as there is negative energy there to refuse to learn from.

The planet Jupiter represents growth and expansion in your life. As one of the larger planets in our galaxy, Jupiter has the job of protecting this Universe from that which would cause us external harm, and thus on a metaphysical level this planet’s energy in our Charts has the ability to also protect us from the external harm that we can encounter in any given area of our lives. Jupiter’s energy is so expansive and loving that it can show us how to protect ourselves by using what we have within and just radiating it outward more. Planets such as Pluto and Saturn have their rules and ways of learning that are quite strict and unbendable at times, whereas Jupiter just wants you to grow through love and what is your own natural way of being and doing.

This planet rules the sign Sagittarius and promotes the love of freedom, adventure and exploration in life. This is why children born under this sign are often very adventurous and curious and parents are often kept busy with a constant barrage of “why?” as the child seeks to naturally expand his or her own perspective on life. Children born with strong Jupiter placements in their Charts are usually very happy and at peace as babies due to this planet and its ability to encourage playfulness and joy in their little worlds. Due to the size and nature of this planet I have found that children also feel very protected and safe under this energy and tend to face life with a lot more confidence and less fear as they work their way towards adulthood.

I always think of this planet as a “happy” planet as the rewards of Jupiter are designed to make you grow and become prosperous on your life path by utilising your personal and natural ability to expand in a certain area of your life. Therefore, wherever Jupiter sits in your Natal Chart is the area of your life where you can expect to grow the most, become the most abundant and have the most joy and often luck too, and all by just using the natural instincts and gifts that you have in that particular area.
