I am told Uri Geller just used to say “Bend, Bend, Bend” in his mind and spoons would bend spontaneously.
I learnt to do it differently but it’s still a great party trick. Late in 2006, I was watching a DVD on Spoonbending – as I watched I started to bend the spoon I held in my hand and I haven’t stopped since. It’s become a bit of an addiction really!
Since that time I have learnt simpler and more effective ways of bending metal spoons and I can bend them quickly without force, twist them around and even break them in two - but I do need to touch them to do so.
I found that 9 out of 10 people can do it (spoonbending) with practice and some meditation and energy experience.
SPOONBENDING FAME IN SINGAPORE
I have discovered it’s something that fascinates people everywhere – and everybody wants to learn to do it. During my recent times teaching at Whatever Healing Space in Singapore where I have evening seminars there on Spoonbending, I found that 9 out of 10 people can do it with practice and some meditation and energy experience. Once I do it, and somebody else follows, it seems all the spoons in the room soften and virtually anybody can bend them.
For a while I was famous when a big Chinese speaking TV station heard about the seminar and sent a reporter to check me out. So I was well known in Singapore after being on the evening news bending and breaking spoons and lost my usual anonymity there – I was requested to demonstrate in shops, at dinner parties, during courses, etc! I also taught the female reporter the art of spoonbending. So she was pleased – and so was I.
ALL MATTER IS ENERGY – THE BASIS OF ALCHEMY
So how does spoonbending work? A metal spoon is simply denser energy than say, water. We have our physical bodies and we have our aura around us that not many people can see – both are energy but the physical body is denser so you can see it easily. With a little practice most people can learn to feel and see the aura or energy field around the body.
Many people are aware of the basic elemental energies of Earth, Air, Water and Fire, as well as Spirit. We need all of these energies in balance to have good health and feel comfortable in our bodies. They are also the basis of alchemy – and spoonbending is Metal Alchemy.
The old medieval alchemists sought to change lead into gold and in the New Age movement we are seeking alchemy of the emotions and spirit – to turn our heavy dense energy and physical bodies into Light Bodies.
By working closely with the elemental energies – in particular the fire elementals – it’s very easy to learn spoonbending or to affect any dense object really. In Singapore, I was asked, “what about chopsticks?” and found both the plastic and wooden ones bend far more easily than I could normally manage, so they just break.
SPOONBENDING WITH THE GODDESS SEKHMET
Sekhmet is the Ancient Egyptian Female Goddess of Fire and Transformation. Goddesses are Divinities or Archetypal energies – forces of nature really. To me Sekhmet is as alive and real as a person I can see. She talks to me and sends healing energy to me and my clients during a healing session – clients often ask who was the big cat or lioness they could see and sense in their mind! So if a client is low in energy and feeling sad and depressed or in need of change and transformation, I would call Sekhmet in.
So I found invoking Sekhmet and visualizing her standing behind me, then asking for her fiery orange red energy to flow into a spoon makes it very quick and easy to turn a metal spoon to a soft putty-like object that can bend and twist quickly and easily. You can also invoke the fire elementals to assist you.
