Greetings! It is our pleasure to be with you this day and to speak with you about the art of listening. We have spoken in the past about the interconnection of all things, that sea of energy that connects all things, that which you float in, that which embraces your soul and connects your energy to All That Is. We would like to enhance your ability to recognize and remain connected in your awareness to this energy from which you can never be parted.
But you have oft times forgotten or have had a lapse in your awareness of this connection. And it is our intention to give you the tools that will bring this awareness more into your present moment each and every day.
We would like to speak with you this day about the art of listening because when you begin to feel the connection with all things, it is through your ability to listen. Without any judgment, without any need to direct, simply open yourself with the desire to understand what is being communicated to you by whatever is presenting itself to you in the moment. So, if it is another person with whom you are engaged in a listening exercise, then it is to let go of any need to control and to let go of any need to judge. Simply approach the listening with a true desire for understanding what is truly being communicated to you by this individual.
So look at how you are listening. Many times when we approach a situation where we are communicating with others, we often feel like our agenda is what needs to be brought out into the conversation. It is on our mind when we are engaged in listening so that we are always one step ahead of the conversation thinking about what we can contribute to get our point across.
Without any judgment, without any need to direct, simply open yourself with the desire to understand what is being communicated to you by whatever is presenting itself to you in the moment.
What we are saying to you now is that it is inhibiting your ability to listen when your mind is filled with your own agenda. Open yourself to a pure desire when engaged in conversation with others to simply comprehend the message that is being brought forth for you. Clear your mind of other thoughts and allow your focus to be on feeling and understanding what is being communicated to you and you will find that you will deepen your understanding of the connection and the Oneness that we all share.
This listening for understanding can be expanded to all life forms, both seen and unseen, so that you can open a doorway to other dimensions as you begin to let your agenda take a back seat and let the desire for understanding be your focus. You will find that if you quiet your mind, you can receive messages from anything that you choose to communicate with. These messages can come as a feeling or as a knowingness. You may hear the messages with your inner ear or you may be given a symbol or a sign that is meaningful to you personally. Allow your attention to be focused on the desire for understanding about what is coming to you in your present moment. And show gratitude through either your spoken word to another or through your thoughts. As you gain experience and confidence in this, the art of listening, you will find that your senses will become fine-tuned and you will receive more and more information from the world around you.
This simple exercise or skill, this simple intention on your part will fill your life with joy and connect you consciously to All That Is. You will no longer be blind to that connection but you will bring it into your conscious awareness. Once you make this shift, once you develop this skill, you will be filled with wonder. You will open your heart to the universal love that is your birthright.
That is why it has been said that the meek shall inherit the earth. In this time upon your planet, your ability to truly hear, not only with your outer ears but also with your inner senses and heart, is a skill that will bring you into the new earth. It will guide you safely through the transitional times that are now before you.
So allow yourself to let your agendas go and become like little children, innocent, wide eyed and running joyfully down the path of life.
